Cefalù is a popular and overcrowded destination throughout the summer, thanks to its crystal-clear sea and the fun and nightlife it offers, but it is also worth a visit during the winter period. The Norman town offers a vast calendar of events each year that characterise the Christmas period.
From 8 December to 6 January, Cefalù transforms its typical summer character into a Christmas one: living nativity scenes and local events are the main attractions.
All of Cefalù’s most important monuments remain open on Christmas days to allow tourists to enjoy a complete experience.
Not to be missed are the Cefalù Cathedral, the medieval wash house, the Salvatore Cicero municipal theatre and the Mandralisca Museum, which houses important works by Antonello da Messina, the Flemish school and Sicilian artists.
